I like gorp. It used to be made of Post Sugar Crisp, M%26amp;Ms, and peanuts. It's an energy snack. One has to be careful today with the various allergies children have.
Dried fruit "chips" (slices) are fun to make and easy to carry and eat. Banana, apricot, apple, peach, all make good chips. Banana and apple are the least messy.Do you have any fun camping, hiking and travel recipes for Summer snacks?Well i go camping a lot and i actually just made a website with recipes on it.

Do you have any fun camping, hiking and travel recipes for Summer snacks?when we camp, we make "baggie omlettes" for breakfast:start a big pot of water boiling over the campfire
give each person a zip lock baggie (the kind with the zipper work best - no leaks!)
break two eggs into each baggie and lightly beat with a fork; let each person add what they like: cooked bacon or sausage, onions, green peppers, etc. Close the baggie and drop it into the boiling water for about 3 to 5 minutes. Simply open the baggie, spoon onto a plate and serve; toss the baggie - no cleanup required!
My kids thought this was the coolest thing ever last fall when we went camping.Do you have any fun camping, hiking and travel recipes for Summer snacks?
Fiber one bars are good (stay away from chocolate coated or drizzled though cuz it melts) Make peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches and cut them into small squares so they are easy to eat. Mix together cereals and peanuts. Bottles of water w/ those mix in drink packetts (crystal light on the go peach tea is yummy) If you have a cooler then pudding and yogurt tubes are good or snack pack pudding is good(no refridge needed) dried fruits, rasins, craisins, yogurt covered peanuts are a nice snack but my kids wont eat them. They like beef jerky, chex mix, and even cheerios and applejacks in a bag are good. I always found hard candies and gum to be important for keeping your mouth from getting dry
