What is the easiest and cheapest way to travel from rome to stockholm/uppsala sweden?

I'm studying abroad in a few weeks, and I want to visit my friends in Uppsala, Sweden for a weekend trip. I want to leave on a Thursday afternoon/night and come back Sunday morning. Would it be easier to travel via train or airplane? Price and ease of travel are my main priorities. Thanks! What is the easiest and cheapest way to travel from rome to stockholm/uppsala sweden?According to the Swiss railsystem info center, you will have to change trains 4-6 times when travelling from Rome to Uppsala. The trip is around 30 hours. Sorry, I could not get the price... unless you have a Eurorail pass anyway....

A plane gets you up there in around 6 hours from around 210 Euro up. Flight with one stopover

(One way fare)

Hope this helps. What is the easiest and cheapest way to travel from rome to stockholm/uppsala sweden?Check the budget flights for the dates you want to travel. A couple of very good sites are: http://www.skyscanner.it/ and http://www.whichbudget.com/ . This will be the fastest and most convenient way to travel that distance. Air Baltic, Germanwings and Air Berlin all have flights from Fiumicino airport to Stockholm Arlanda airport. Ryanair flies from Ciampino airport to Stockholm S. Skavsta airport.

It's around 30 hours from Rome to Stockholm on the train. It's actually not all that bad - I've done it from Bologna when I had a lot of time and made some stops along the way, to break up the trip. However, the train would give you no time in Sweden at all. http://www.bahn.de/i/view/USA/en/index.s鈥?/a>
