What the most efficient way to use overseas oney to travel in other countries?

Im from Australia and have been in Canada for a while and am about to use my Australian savings to travel the rest of america and hopefully south america etc etc. what is the best way as in efficient to use my money for travelling. Should I use my credit card everytime and pay all the conversion fees and stuff or should I transfer the money over here and risk travelling with cash. or try get an american bank accont to get the money from. Any ideas would be appreciated.What the most efficient way to use overseas oney to travel in other countries?I have found, especially when traveling in multiple countries, that it's most efficient to get cash in a country's currency from ATMs with a debit card (getting the maximum possible with each transaction). Debit card rather than credit card, which considers them cash advances and have a high interest rate.



I use credit card for large purchases to keep the protections offered by my card.
