Why does mike 06 wrangler make a cranking noise while in motion and 4 wheel drive is engaged?

While driving in sand and the 4H is engaged my wrangler will make a cranking noise for short periods of time? I can also feel the jeep shake a little simultaneously to the noise? Is this wheel hopping? If so, what is wheel hopping and can it be avoided? Why does mike 06 wrangler make a cranking noise while in motion and 4 wheel drive is engaged?Note if it only does it when you hit the gas or let off or at constant speed or turn the wheel all the way either direction

It could possibly be your front driveshaft rubbing against the exhaust or something like that due to more of a load on the engine and trans making it move and bounce

If when turing you could have a bad U-Joint

I dont think it would be wheel hop that usually only happens when you are spinning your tires.

Also just something else to keep in mind

I know you said its an 06 but do you have stock tires or aftermarket tires that may not be alll the same size if not you may have a limited slip or posi differental and it could be making noise because the tires are nott the same size and the differental is trying to spin the tires the same speed

take it to the dealer if it concerns you much it should still be under warranty

hopefully that helps a bit good luck
