I am 13.5 years old.
I want to become a meteorologist when i grow up. Here is my career
I want to go to Cornell University to get a Masters Degree in Meteorology. Then I am going to be an OCM at the Weather Channel for at least 10 years. During that time I am going to cover hurricanes/blizzards for the network. Then I am going to CNN as a Worldwide Meterologist.
I want to earn an Emmy Award and contain an AMS Seal of Approval and be an CBM(Certified Brodcast Meteorologist).READ THIS Here is my career? P.S- How much would I get paid at the Weather Channel or CNN as a meteorologist?
Sounds like you've got some really great goals and ambitions there.
As for what the Weather channel or CNN pays there meterologists I have no clue but I will tell you that meterologist can make anywhere from 32,000.00 to 73,000.00+ a yr.
Have you tried contacting your local channel and see if they can use a gopher around the studio? This is a great way to get some experience and learn the ins and outs of the bradcasting business. My son (same age as you btw) is wanting to be a meteorologist as well and was offered this opportunity.
