What is the best way to travel from thailand to laos and vietnam?

What is the best way to travel from thailand to laos and Vietnam? is there a train and is it easy. how long does it take to these countries and how much is it all? What is the best way to travel from thailand to laos and vietnam? To go from Thailand to Vietnam I would definitely say fly unless you like long uncomfortable bus rides.

To go to Laos you have several options. You can fly from Bangkok to Vientiane. You can take a bus, train or plane to Udon Thani/Nong Khai then cross over to Laos at Nong Khai and get a taxi into Vientiane.

You can take a train, bus or plane to Ubon Ratchathani. From there you have several options. You can take a bus to Mukdahan, Thailand then take a bus across Freedom Bridge 2 into Savanakhet, Laos.

Also from Ubon you can take an international bus to Pakse, Laos which stops at Chong Mek and the Laos Immigration and you can get a visa on entry. You can also get a visa on entry when crossing over in Mukdahan.

Up north if you are taking a bus from Udon Thani to Vietiane you must already have your Lao visa, if in Nong Khai you can pay a service 2000TB and they will take you to the border, do all the paperwork for your visa and a van will pick you up on the other side to take you to accommodations in Vientiane.

Hope this helps. What is the best way to travel from thailand to laos and vietnam?I'd guess on an airplane. What is the best way to travel from thailand to laos and vietnam?Hi,

Traveling by air is fastest way (45mns). From Bangkok to Vientiane, Laos is around USD $190-220.

Traveling by train is very cheap, but taking hours. From Bangkok to Nongkhai by train (sleeping class) is around $20-30. It is 12hr ride. From Nongkhai to Vientiane, Laos is about 45mn bus ride.

From Vientiane, I recommend that you fly from Vientiane to Vietnam.

Well, By bus is easy, all the agents there are for you to book. Yes, from Bangkok you take the bus to Nongkhai. From Nongkhai you will do the paper work in the border. And then you get to Vientiane, Laos. From Vientiane you take the bus to Hanoi. Prices will just be 20, 30 USD so it's pretty cheap. But it does take a long time. Each bus trip of these places will take about a day. But it saves all the money. Otherwise, You can do Airasia from BKK to Hanoi. And from Hanoi take the bus to Laos. AirAsia will be about 100USD/ way.
