Describe the sun's Apparent diurnal motion in terms if it's path , direction and rate of movement.Describe the sun's Apparent diurnal motion in terms if it's path , direction and rate of movement? The place on the horizon where the sun is first visible each morning is different each day of the year. In general the location is to the East but it is farther North on dates closer to June 21st and farther South on dates closer to December 21st. This difference in where the sun rises is caused by the tilt of the axis of rotation of the Earth to the plane of the orbit of the Earth around the Sun.
