What are some eco-friendly motion control shoes?

I read an article a few month ago in a running magazine about the enormous waste present in current shoe manufacturing. especially after cutting the plastic/foam pieces to shape. These pieces take thousands of years to degrade. So im' interested in an eco-friendly shoe. I need motion control though.
