Does bad weather affect Freeview reception?

My Freeview box is relatively new and was working fine until the recent cold weather set in, when the C5 channels (5, 5US, 5 Life) and others on that multiplex showed "No Signal." I know that those channels have a weaker signal anyway, but could low temperature or other climactic conditions weaken them further? I'm told there's no work being done on the transmitter, and other channels have good to strong signals, so I don't think my connectors are at fault.Does bad weather affect Freeview reception?
Yes bad weather does affect Free-view reception as it does Satellite. The problem is worse if you have a weak signal on the channel you are trying to watch. I have both and get the same problem. Having spoken to an engineer recently though I was told that the reception should be affected less after the digital switchover (the whole UK by 2012) this is due to the digital transmitters not all being on line at the moment. Hope that helps.
yes it does.. have the same problem.. can anyone tell us why..Does bad weather affect Freeview reception?
Well, Yes.

Even though when you're Living in England (Doesn't matter where), You do get access to more Channels. If you don't appreciate anything, Go for Top Up TV.

When you're living in Wales, You don't get many channels as you do in England.

Not too sure about scotland though.

Yeah... Just like Sky TV really, The Bad Weather does effect the reception i'am afraid. :( Lol
Mine gets bad in very windy conditions. Not noticed temperature affecting it though.Does bad weather affect Freeview reception?
I've answered this question a few times.

At present the digital signal is running at about 40% strength and is effected by adverse weather conditions. As the switch over from analogue becomes more widespread, the signal will be boosted to full power, this SHOULD increase the reception quality and continuity for everybody.
